Robin had learned to fly with his Uncle Galen Gloyde in the '40s. It was Dad's hobby and joy. He had 3 planes, a Beechcraft, a Bonanza and a Piper 235B. Our dog Jill used to fly with us.

We flew almost every weekend to either Volcan or Cerro Punta, Rio Hato, Contadora Island, Santiago, Costa Rica and other air fields.

Robin flew the Cherokee Piper from Brownsville, TX to Paitilla Airport. He stopped in Costa Rica to visit Mr. Music's skating rink and caught one heck of a cold. He quit smoking that weekend.

Upon retiring from the Panama Canal, Robin was a ship simulator instructor at MITAGS from 1984 - 1994.

In 1992 he received the USMMA Silver Mariner Award.

In 2002, Robin received the USMMA Distinguished Service Award.

Upon his second retirement, Capt. Erixon returned to his hometown of Tacoma, WA.

Indian Burial Prayer
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glint of snow.
I am the sunlight on the ripen grain. I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush or quiets birds in circled flights.
I am the soft star the shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there. I did not die.
