Meditation allows us to calm and quiet our thought processes so that we can reach deeply into the soul level. If practiced regularly, the body and mind soon learn to reach that state simply by intention. In meditation, we can passively accept energy or actively direct the flow of energy. While it is deeply relaxing, meditation is not a sleep state.
